How it Works

  • When students sign up for the Vocabulary Contest, they will be enrolled in a private Vocabulary.com classroom created specifically for this contest.

  • Students must complete vocabulary activities inside the contest classroom.

  • Students will be assigned specific vocabulary lists chosen for middle and high school levels.

  • Students learn words by:

    • Reading definitions and examples

    • Practicing with interactive questions

    • Reaching “mastery” on individual words

  • Vocabulary.com automatically awards points for:

    • Correct practice answers

    • Reaching mastery on words

    • Continued, consistent practice

    The platform tracks all activity automatically

  • Winners are determined by total points earned inside the contest classroom during the contest period.
