Description
In the Intro to Cells Unit Study, we will take an introductory tour of the cell. Some of the topics included in the study are cell theory, cell basics, cell size, cell types, cell organelles, and cell processes. Students can work through all the assignments in each module – or just the ones they choose (or parents assign).
The four modules will cover the following topics:
Module 1 – Cell Intro
Module 2 – Cell Structure and Function
Module 3 – Cell Types
Module 4 – Cell Processes
Activities will include reading articles, watching videos, playing games/quizzes, doing hands-on activities, and completing engaging projects. The module projects will allow students to explore topics in more depth through research and experiments. Students will present their project in a digital format–a poster, video, picture, slideshow, etc. for a chance to win a gift card!
The content in this Intro to Cells Unit Study varies in difficulty so there’s something for everyone! The fun games and interesting facts make it appealing to a variety of ages. This unit study is self-paced. Most of the activities are done online, although there are a few things to do offline (e.g. science experiments).
