Summer Olympics Bingo

Our Summer Olympics Bingo allows you to add in some competitive fun and some geography learning while your family watches the Summer Olympics!

This downloadable game comes with 8 unique Bingo boards. Each has a 5 X 5 grid and contains things you could see or hear while watching the Summer Olympics. Examples include things like “A European Flag” and “An athlete from Canada”.

Playing the bingo will help all players learn which athletes are from which countries and what the flags of each country look like. This is a fun and easy way to learn geography without your children feeling like they are “doing school”.

Use pennies for bingo markers and cardboard for the boaards to make these reusable. Or just print them on paper and put crosses in the boxes to mark off what has been found.

Be sure to have a globe or atlas handy to extend the learning while you play Summer Olympics Bingo. Or you can use an online search, of course.

Can You Escape Biology Class?

This biology digital escape is similar to Escape Rooms but all you need is a computer to experience the fun. It is designed to take about an hour to complete if done in a group.

Use your knowledge of biology to escape from this digital escape room. Students should be familiar with using a dichotomous key, solving Punnett Squares, basic biology vocabulary, the characteristics of living things, how to use a codon chart/codon wheel, and the Central Dogma of DNA.

Work together as a family, or a group of students (you can use this in a co-op class if you have one laptop per group) to solve this digital breakout. And in the process, students will be learning biology and exercising critical thinking skills!

Hints are provided.

Suggested for grades 9 – 12.

Looking for a fun way to live up lessons? Or to play in the car on a long road trip? Or just to take a break from regular school?

The A – Z Bundle contains three different games where players can test their knowledge of geography, history, and science. Each player comes up with names/events/things related to each topic on their list starting with whatever letter is drawn each round.

There are 10 categories on each list and each game comes with 2 different lists to make this a game you can play over and over again.

Teens can take on their parents and see who knows the most about geography, history, or science!

For younger students, the game would best be played in teams where they have an older teammate as they may struggle to come up with answers for all the categories.

Mystery of the Amber Room

Digital breakouts are similar to Escape Rooms but all you need is a computer to experience the fun. They are designed to take about an hour to complete if done in a group.

The Amber Room was created in the 18th century in Prussia and was a magnificent room with amber panels. It was gifted to Russia – but then disappeared during World War 2.

Mosby’s Treasure

During the Civil War John Mosby stole Union treasure during a raid. He hid the treasure – and no one knows where it is now. In this digital breakout, see if you can solve the clues and discover what happened to the treasure.

You will need to work together (fun to play in co-op classes or as a family) and think outside the box as you learn more about Mosby, his men, and the Civil War.

This is a great activity for students to learn about the Civil War in a fun way – and also learn to problem-solve.

Hints are provided – for those who need them!

This digital breakout does contain some offline activities – so you will need to print a few pages before you start. The rest of the puzzles are all online and you will “unlock” digital locks.
